Founded on October 14th, 2022 in Miami-Dade County, Mind Overseas is a Non-Profit Organization that aims to raise funding to provide accessible mental health resources for immigrants, as well as raise awareness on the issue of mental health amongst immigrants.

Isabella Delgado, a psychology college student, founded this organization after personally seeing the mental effects that immigration can often have on a person and their family. Isabella migrated from Caracas, Venezuela to Florida, United States in 2007. She was only a 7-year-old child, but even then, her mental health was affected. She had to overcome obstacles such as being unable to speak english in a primarily english-speaking school.

Then in 2014, Isabella's family migrated from Venezuela to the U.S. due to political turmoil. She was miserable to see that the glowing, joyful people that she had grown to know, had now become downhearted and weakened. They were consumed by PTSD, anxiety, and depression. Moving was hard. They had degrees, incredible jobs, homes, and an entire life back in Venezuela that they had to leave behind. Their mental health was understandably affected. Isabella was filled with anguish to know that she was incapable of helping them.

Isabella realized that her and her family were not alone in this. In fact, a huge percent of the population in Miami-Dade County is composed of immigrants, making it the perfect location to form something that will change people's lives.

Hence, Mind Overseas.
